2005 Year End Statistics
The Board member volunteers of Wings of Hope would like to thank everyone for making 2005 such a success. We had amazing results and were able to rehome many animals with the help of everyone. Please see our statistics below for more details.
Intakes and Adoptions
In 2005 Wings of Hope took in total of 133 animals. These ranged from Finches and Macaws, with everything in between. At the end of the year, we had successfully adopted out 122 of those animals that came in. Of that original 133, 5 remained in Foster Care into the New Year. Due to unforeseen circumstances of the adopting owner, 1 bird was returned to Wings of Hope, and was able to be re-adopted into a permanent loving home. Unfortunately, 2 birds passed to the Rainbow Bridge while in our care. The remaining 4 passed to Rainbow Bridge after adoption. We had 0 (zero) positive disease test results.
Financial Contributions and Expenses
We had contributions from the general public totaling $11,112.60. This included $780.00 in application fees. Our adoption donations accounted for $6149.21 of the funds received. General donations were totaled at $2105.79. Food Sales on eBay accounted for $1705.78. Wings of Hope was extremely fortunate to be the recipient of a donation from Petco totaling $371.82.
As of December 31, 2005 we had $588.72 in our general checking account, $818.49 in our savings account and $502.87 in our Special Needs Fund.
We had expenses totaling $12,545.84. Some of our expenses include $3507.48 in Vetting, $2209.00 in Disease Testing, $1700.00 in toys and supplies, $3362.20 in Food (Seed, Pellets, Millet, Cuttlebone and Mineral Blocks), and $150.00 for our web hosting fees. Post office Box rental is $80.00. Phone Services was $337.16. We spent $48.00 for Leg Bands, and $372.53 was spent on postage. $392.81 was Business Supplies (Staples, Business Cards, etc) $386.66 was Misc. (Trailer Rental x 2, gas, Expo fees, etc.).
We spent no money on compensation for any Board Member and/or Volunteer of Wings of Hope. We also did not spend any money on Fundraising or Promotions. 100% of all monies are allotted for the animals we help.

Wings of Hope ended 2005 with 26 members. Unlike last year, we no longer have a Junior Member Program. We held 2 general membership meetings as well as 1 Emergency Board Meeting concerning special issues.
