2006 Year End Statistics
The Board members of Wings of Hope would like to thank everyone for making 2006 such a success. We had amazing results and were able to rehome many animals with the help of everyone. Please see our statistics below for more details.

Intakes and Adoptions

In 2006 Wings of Hope took in total of 69 animals. These ranged from Finches and Macaws, with everything in between. At the end of the year, we had successfully adopted out 53 of those animals that came in. Of that original 69, 9 remained in Foster Care into the new year (8 have since been adopted as well). Due to unforeseen circumstances of the adopting owner, 2 birds were returned to Wings of Hope, and were able to be re-adopted into a Forever Home. Unfortunately 5 birds passed to the Rainbow Bridge while in our care. The remaining 2 passed to Rainbow Bridge after adoption. We had 0(zero) positive disease test result.

Financial Contributions and Expenses

We had contributions from the general public, which includes adoption donations totaling $4709.80. Our adoption donations accounted for $2661.43 of the funds received. Wings of Hope was extremely fortunate to be the recipient of 2 grants from the Petco Foundation totaling $750.00.

We had expenses totaling $4416.38. As of December 31, 2006 we had $143.42 in our general checking account, $150.00 in our savings account and $380.72 in our Special Needs Fund. Some of our expenses include(but are not limited to) $773.72 in Vetting, $905.00 in Disease Testing by an outside lab, $700.00 in toys and supplies, $553.04 in Food, and $53.00 for our web space with maintenance.

We spent no money on compensation for any Board Member and/or volunteer of Wings of Hope. We also did not spend any money on Fundraising or Promotions. 100% of all monies are allotted for the animals we help.
Volunteers

Wings of Hope ended 2006 with 27members. We held 1 general membership meetings as well as 1 Emergency Board Meeting concerning special issues.

Special Thanks

The Board of Directors at Wings of Hope would like to thank all our dedicated volunteers. We would be nothing without them. Also many thanks to our vets for the care they provide our animals, at a reduced rate, and even for free. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
