To our many friends

February 27, 2005

True friends always come out in time of need and tragedy.  All of you guys/gals are the best.  From phone calls to ask how myself and my family were doing to offers of places to stay, clothes, food, and monetary support... your support was needed and appreciated by me, my husband and children.  Your support got us through the toughest time (immediate days after fire), esp. since I was so far from home, and has eased the pain of losing ˝ our home, as well as some beloved family members.  We are on the road to rebuilding and are getting back into the mainstream of life.  Again, thanks for everything. We needed it.

To the staff and families of Learning Steps, All that Dance, The Switlik School, Switlik PTN, Golden Re-Triever Rescue Inc. of NJ, Compass Environmental, and Wings of Hope, your generosity will never be forgotten. To our many friends and neighbors, who offered assistance, Thank you.  To Doug and Loretta, Connie and Bobby, Wayne and Leesa and Galena for housing our multiple critters in those first few days,  and loving them as we do.   I wish I could put into words my feelings, but it is nearly impossible.  Please know that we thank you, each and every one of you, from the bottom of our hearts.

To the Cassville, Jackson Mills, Whitesville, and New Egypt Fire Departments, Thank You.  I grew up in a fire fighting family, so I've always appreciated the life.  I never in a million years thought it would happen to my family.  Thank you for all you do, and most of all for saving our home from further damage.  Thank you to the many firefighters who carefully removed our possessions to prevent further damage.  It is greatly appreciated.  Thank you for the respect that you showed our home.

To Doug of the Cassville Fire Dept, you have gone above and beyond neighborly duties.  First off, thank you for helping Todd in the early minutes, part of our home is left because of your heroic actions. Second, thank you to you and Loretta for housing and loving Bailey like he was your own.  You actions will never be forgotten.

To the nameless, unknown firefighter who so lovingly carried my FuzzWuzz out of the house.  She was my constant and faithful companion for the last 11 years.  She was extremely loved and spoiled and will be greatly missed.  Thank you just isn’t enough, as you have my gratitude forever.  To most she was “just” a cat, thank you for giving her the dignity and respect in death that she had in life, and so deserved.

Many heartfelt thanks to Leesa and Jo, who were here when I couldn't be.  And to Leesa for housing my animals, taking all salvageable worldly possessions out of my home, and most of all for handling and loving FuzzWuzz like I would have.  You went above and beyond the call of friendship, and I am forever grateful to you. Jo, as always thank you, and what would I do without you. I couldn’t ask for a better best friend.  You are always there in my times of need.  Thank you.

I can never thank y'all enough, nor do I even know where to begin.  From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. I truly cannot say that enough.  Our children are safe, our home is being rebuilt and material possessions are being replaced.  The love and concern of friends is the greatest medicine we could have.

With our heartfelt thanks,

Todd, Jannet, Brenden and Morgyn King

Bailey, Whiskers, Stocie, Shiloh, and Nemo too
