Spring 2005 Newsletter

Wings of Hope-NJ is having a very busy year again in 2005. So far, as of May 21, 2005, we have taken 66 animals into our program. We have a very successful adoption and intake program. Thanks to some great adopters, our turn over is rather quick. Once the animal is vetted and deemed healthy, he or she is then available for adoption. We do have a waiting list of pre-approved applicants.

Many thanks to our volunteers who donate countless hours from their busy lives to help birds in need. You are the reason WOH-NJ is so successful. Keep up the good work, we couldn't do it without you.

The Board members of Wings of Hope would like to thank everyone for making 2004 such a success. We had amazing results and were able to rehome many animals with the help of everyone.

In 2004 Wings of Hope took in a total of 190 animals. These ranged from Finches and Macaws, with everything in between, to rabbits and ferrets. At the end of the 2004 year, we had successfully adopted out 172 of those animals that came in. Of that original 190, 13 remained in Foster Care into the new year (as of March 1, 2005, 8 have since been adopted as well). Due to unforeseen circumstances of the adopting owner, 2 birds were returned to Wings of Hope, and were able to be re-adopted into a Forever Home.

We currently have some great animals available for adoption. We update it as needed, whenever a bird comes into our rescue and when adopted to their "Forever Home". Please check them out at our Petfinders site.

Foster Homes NEEDED

Wings of Hope-NJ is always in need of loving, committed families and individuals to provide foster care for our birds awaiting adoption. All that's required of a foster is you love the animal as if it were your own and make them available to meet prospective adopters. We will provide all necessary equipment, and pay for medical care.
We have a particular need for especially loving rehabilitation caregivers for birds with special medical needs. We are seeking fosters homes to care for birds like these as they recover.
Fostering is a tremendously rewarding experience. Our foster team is a critical part of our success. If you would like to get involved in this rewarding experience and help a wonderful bird along in its journey, please call 732-833-7825 or e-mail our Foster Coordinator at fostering@wingsofhope-nj.com. YOU can make a difference in the lives of these wonderful birds!
