Our Special Needs Medical Fund

Wings of Hope-NJ recently obtained ownership of some more special needs birds - Micky the Moluccan, Max the White Eyed Conure and also Max the B&G Macaw. The WOH Special Needs fund is designed to help those birds with extraordinary circumstances, entrusted to our care. With your help, Wings of Hope will never have to turn away a bird in need of extra medical care due to lack of funds. All funds donated will remain in this fund and will be used for "special needs" birds only.

Micky is a Moluccan Cockatoo. Micky has a leg injury due to an open fracture that was never attended to. He is currently under medical treatment and wound management and is awaiting surgery.

Our goal is to save his leg. We will do everything possible before amputation is an option.

Max is a White Eyed Conure. Unfortunately for Max, at one point he was housed with an Umbrella Cockatoo who damaged Max's eye, beak, and nare. He is blind in his left eye with a hole in his upper beak. Max is doing well in his foster home and is awaiting his new Parronts. He is learning to trust again. Max needs someone as special as he is to care for him. Max has no special requirements, except for unconditional love caring and patience.

Max is a Blue and Gold (B&G) Macaw who is 25 years old. He is blind, probably due to a life long deficiency in vitamins and improper care. He is under the care of our vet and is being treated for an underlying infection. Due to improper care, he started plucking his feathers. We hope with his current diet and care, his feathers will regrow and perhaps his sight may improve.

If you would like to donate to the fund to help any of these birds, or any other special needs birds we may accept in the future, please send your donation, clearly marked "Special Needs" to:
